Archeologists from Thunderbird Archeology, a division of WSSI, were recently interviewed by a local news team from WJLA Channel 7 News, while conducting a Phase II Archeological Evaluation in Alexandria, Virginia. (Click here to view the footage.)
This project comprises nearly five city blocks within the northern end of the City of Alexandria, Virginia and was the site of the historic James Bland Homes (100-5033), a public housing project constructed in 1954 and 1959. The proposed redevelopment of the property will replace the the aging public housing stock with environmentally friendly, mixed-income homes. WSSI's archeological consulting services on this multi-year phased redevelopment project are ongoing.
