New WSSI Low Impact Development (LID)
Resource Website

WSSI is proud to announce the launch of our newest website feature – an interactive Low Impact Development (LID) website developed for reference by our government and industry partners, as well as students to utilize for research projects. In addition to the regulatory and technical resources available on the official WSSI website, the LID website provides an interactive view of our LEED Gold Facility in Gainesville, VA.

The new LID website includes total site characteristics and plan views of a variety of site features, such as the rain garden, bioswale, cisterns and native landscaping, green roof, permeable parking and underground detention. The website provides storm-by-storm analysis and performance of the various LID practices in near-real-time (24-hr lag in data upload). Users can also view and download flow data from the many flow sensors located at our office. We encourage green industry professionals and researchers to utilize this resource in analyzing and designing sustainable sites. Our goal has always been to mimic the hydrology of a forested condition and preliminary data analysis indicates we made it happen!
