As announced in Field Notes Vol. 25, No. 5, WSSI will be participating in the National Red Bull Flugtag at National Harbor on September 21. We are putting the final touches on our 28' dragonfly (affectionately known as Lil' Henry) and anxious to put several months of work and creativity to the test!
Over the past several months, our team has received several challenges from Red Bull, ranging from awkward team photos to creating an entertaining training video. However, we need everyone's help with this last award. Beginning at noon today (9/19), voting opened for the Flugtag People's Choice Award. The winning team gets airfare to a New York Red Bulls soccer match, with tickets to watch the game in the official Red Bull suite!
Please text DC21 to 72855 to vote for the Wetland Studies and Solutions Dragon Flyers (up to 10 votes per phone)*or via the Red Bull site at http://redbullflugtagusa.com/page/cities/city/1/dc (10 votes here as well). Voting closes after the last craft is launched on Saturday afternoon (9/21).
For those of you planning to attend the event, please stop by the hangar area to meet the team and get some free Dragon Flyers gear.
If you have any questions about texting your vote or the Wetland Studies and Solutions Dragon Flyers team, feel free to contact Jess Campo (pilot), Justin Jacobs, Dan Osborne, Ben Rosner, or Andres Garzon-Oeschle.
As always, you can follow our team progress on Facebook, Twitter, or our official Red Bull team page. |
