The Department of Environmental Quality Makes a Modification to the VSMP Submission Timeline

| The previous version of Field Notes (Vol. 22, No. 1) discussed in detail the status of the new stormwater regulations set to take effect on July 1st of this year. In this article, we presented the submission timeline that would be necessary in order to allow the use of current stormwater design criteria for another 2 permit cycles (10 years). Subsequent correspondence with Department of Environmental Quality staff has resulted in a slight revision to the timeline, as presented below. Note that this new guidance varies somewhat from the actual regulation, as depicted in the graphic. Given this discrepancy, WSSI still recommends that applicants apply for the 2014 Construction General Permit prior to June 1st. |
