Comments Requested on PFM Amendments Related to Fairfax County’s Pro-Rata Share Program

Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services is requesting comments on proposed changes to Chapter 6 of the Public Facilities Manual related to the pro-rata share program. The pro rata share program involves assessing new development for a proportionate share of the cost of off-site drainage improvements. It provides a funding source for the portion of the cost of drainage improvements necessitated by the increased runoff from new development. The proposed amendments will be presented to the Development Process Committee of the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, September 30. In addition to changes to existing PFM language, a new section has been added that presents options for obtaining credit for on-site SWM/BMP practices.
